Welcome - What is SkinIllustrated? Can't Post

We were looking for a good name for an eZine on tattooing, and bodypainting, and this is a name we settled on.

For the most part, this will let us show images that are ink+skin, without the "body" as the central theme -- ie: standard close ups of the tattoos.

This is *NOT* bodyart, but form of flash. Rather than being on paper, it's on skin. The art is the image, *NOT* the body.

This is a separation we've made all along. If you can't even determine what part of the body the image is on, there is no point in calling it "bodyart!"

But, people have asked for a "gallery" of sorts, to display their artwork, without the extras.

We'll be installing software for this shortly, and getting the site ready.

We will allow linking back to your site, but all images displayed from our site must be hosted _ON_ our site. This prevents broken images in our display pages, and allows us to keep everything moving smoothly.

The Details and Costs:

Individuals will be able to upload images of their own -- FREE. Non commercial listings are just that. One main image, and up to 3 additional images per entry. If you have 10 tattoos, you can have 10 entries, or you can ask us to increase the # of attachments to your link. Some people will show more than one image of their art, especially if it's finely detailed. Others, will just want to show off their variety.

Shops and tattoo artists can upload images, but there will be a fee for a commercial listing group. Individual arrangements can be made for this. You'll get an upgraded (logo) listing on Bodyart.com, as well as expanded exposure on the SkinIllustrated site.

Individuals can link to the artists who pay this fee, and this will increase the artists or shop's exposure. This works for artists who DO and DO NOT have websites! If you do, people can find out more about you. If you do not, people can still see your work in a gallery setting. Hey - not everyone has a website! <G> People can get a list of individuals who use a shop, and vice versa.

This is *NOT* a "links" site. For that, there is http://Bodyart.com, and the links to commercial sites will all "jump" through that software.

Submissions can be made to Bodyartist@bodyart.com
