2006 rings in a whole new look, feel, and purpose. Can't Post

After many years of trying to develop a new purpose, we've returned to the original gallery idea we started with.

We are developing software (running in beta on other sites) which will allow you to put up a gallery of images, either of your art, or yourself, and to get comments, share information, and more.

In a way it will be like a mini blog, mixed with a community/myspace type environment, and a hot-or-not type rating and reviews system. Of course, that sort of "hot" traffic is discouraged, and we encourage good, accurate, and thoughtful ratings and reviews (and we'll enforce that as best we can within the ideal of artistic and creative freedom).

The plan, is to allow members who have provided the required information, to set up and maintain their own private little area. At first we'll probably limit it to 25 photos, to see how the system is used. We'll offer people additional space as interest, and quality of content warrants.

These changes will be phased in over the next few months. Unfortunately, I do not see this happening until April or May, even June.

There are other changes that have to be built in first.

1) The links/directory system and structure is being reworked.
2) An expanded user management and profile system will be added.
3) Test galleries and content areas will be brought on-line.
4) The system will be opened to limited beta by active members
5) The system will go fully live and be enhanced from that point on.

This is in conjunction with several other gallery sites, so the software being installed will be quite robust, and somewhat overkill for this site, at least at first.

Stay tuned.

We've been on-line since about 1992/1993, and we're planning on being around a lot longer.
